OUR STORY
WHY WE STARTED A CIRCUS COMMUNITY IN YELLOW SPRINGS
Believing in the transformative power of circus arts, we set out to create fun and supportive community as an outlet, a means of exercise and a creative art form that combines physical fitness with art and performance. Our mission is to create a fun and inclusive space with access to aerial dance and theater through high-quality, safe, and supportive instruction creating performances anyone can be a part of.

The story behind GravityWorks Circus arriving in Yellow Springs, Ohio in 2023 is, Maya Trujillo, co-owner and lead aerial instructor, grew up learning, training and performing with GravityWorks Troupe in Mexico under Director Nisha Ferguson, the original Founder of GravityWorks.
Maya has since followed her dream to teach aerial acrobatics and create aerial dance performances both in Mexico and the United States for over a decade. Combining her dance background of Flamenco, Ballet and Modern dance, she has a passion for creating stories with movement in the air.
Moving to Ohio, Maya met award winning actor and combat choreographer, Kayla Graham, a local from Yellow Springs and together they joined forces to bring Nisha’s GravityWorks to the United States.
OUR GOALS
Our goal is to build a safe, supportive aerial community that develops strong technique and creates accessible aerial theater performances for everyone to be a part of. We believe in patience and celebrating each student's individuality. Everyone is encouraged to learn at their own pace, enjoy the challenge, and feel proud of their progress. In our circus, we lift each other up, both on the ground and in the air!
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide high quality instruction that focuses heavily on correct technique in a safe and supportive way by building confidence, strength, art and a strong community.

At GravityWorks Circus, we teach a variety of unique, creative people looking to create something new, improve their strength and flexibility and feel a sense of community.
