STUDENT POLICIES

Welcome to GravityWorks Circus! To ensure a safe, supportive, and consistent experience for all students, please review the following studio policies. These guidelines help us maintain a positive training environment and keep classes running smoothly.

    • Students must be registered for the full 6-week term and attend the same weekly class time each session.

    • Please arrive 10minutesearly to warm up and prepare.

    • If you know you’ll miss a class, please contact us as soon as possible.

    • Make-ups are not guaranteed but may be offered when space allows.

    • Classes that fall on major holidays will be rescheduled (see Studio Closures on Schedule page for dates).

    • Class Cancellation: If a class is canceled, instructors will schedule a make-up class with their students. If a class is canceled for the term due to instructor illness or other circumstances, a refund will be issued for the remainder of the class.

    • All payments are due at the time of registration through our website. We offer payments through Stripe, PayPal or payment plans like Klarna with 0% APR.

    • Members receive discounted class rates and additional benefits.

    • If you choose to become a member, your membership must remain active for the full term.

    • For non-members, we offer early-bird discounts and multi-class discounts each term.

    • Late payments may result in loss of your reserved spot.

    • All students must follow instructor directions at all times.

    • Only practice skills that have been taught to you in class.

    • No teaching, spotting, or instructing other students.

    • Jewelry must be removed before class to protect equipment.

    • Please notify your instructor of any injuries or physical limitations before training.

    • A signed waiver is required for all students before signing up for a class at checkout.

    • Wear comfortable, form-fitting athletic clothing that covers the backs of the knees and torso if you are a beginner.

    • Avoid zippers, snaps, or anything that may damage the equipment.

    • Bring a water bottle and stay hydrated.

    • Shoes, bags, and personal items must be kept off the studio floor. (We have a place for shoes right outside of the studio.)

    • Open Studio is for current GravityWorks students only.

    • This is not a class — students practice independently with instructor supervision.

    • Students must warm up on their own before training.

    • Only practice skills you have already learned in class.

    • No teaching or spotting peers.

    • Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you can’t attend.

    • We are a supportive community. Kindness, respect, and encouragement are expected at all times.

    • Bullying, harassment, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated.

    • Sexual harassment, violence, intimidation, or any other non-consensual behavior is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated by GravityWorks or its employees. GravityWorks has the right to ask any person to leave the premises due to improper conduct. You may be asked to not return to the studio if you exhibit threatening behavior or violate these policies.

    • Students may not use equipment without the supervision and immediate approval of an instructor.

    • Students must always have enveloping mats underneath themselves while using any aerial apparatus.

    • Students may not come to class impaired in any way. Students under the influence of drugs or alcohol, mental distress, or physical injury may be asked to leave or watch class instead of participating.

    • If you are sick, please stay home. If you are coughing, sneezing, or showing visible signs of illness, please do not come to class. Talk with your instructor about doing a make-up class instead.

    • GravityWorks may take photos/videos during classes and performances for promotional use.

    • If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform us in writing.

YOUR SAFETY MATTERS TO US

At GravityWorks, safety is a foundational part of everything we do. From our equipment and rigging practices to how we teach, spot, and progress skills, we are deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive environment for every student. We also address Considerations Before Rigging at Home with information from American Circus Education Safety Network.

We invite all students and families to review our Safety Policy to better understand the standards, practices, and protocols we uphold in the studio.
